3 Going on 30

Well, in the last 2 weeks, Eli has gone from Mommy and Daddy to "Mom and Dad". He can now dress himself - promptly reminding us "I'm a big boy - I don't need your help". My reverse psychology that I began early on with him has paid off...when I ask him to do something he generally replies, "Sure Mom, I'd be happy to." Mr. BIG!!

Pirate Madd Dog Eli (Mommy was a pirate at work one day and Eli inherited the costume from Mommy aka... "Iron Annie Flint".

Eli and the lizzard (yes the lizzard is on his hand, and

YES he caught it all by himself in the living room...Nice!)

Today when I went to pick him up from school, his teacher said "mom, do you have some news about a b-a-b-y?" My heart cringed to be honest. "No" I replied..."why?" She proceeded to tell me that Eli was adamant about mommy having a baby in her tummy...my heart sunk even deeper into my stomach. He has been asking more questions about AJ lately, but also his other teacher is pregnant and so is one of his classmates' mother. While it was a cute, innocent topic for Eli...not so much for me. I pray God will give us the opportunity to answer that question with a yes sometime in the future...only He knows what the plan is....

Happy Thanksgiving

We survived Thanksgiving...not easy this year. Eli was the perfect turkey. He sang two songs in the school program - "Mr Turkey" and "10 little turkeys". They were all too cute. We had a great lunch of turkey sandwiches, corn on the cob, grapes, cheese squares and cake. Just Eli's kind of meal. We are so thankful to have Eli as our bright spot always making us smile and keeping us going - learning new things every day.

Peace and blessings to all our friends and family. Sweet thoughts and love to our baby angel AJ today - Thank you God for our boys!!

Maverick has the flu... :(

Well, Eli has had a mild case of the flu we expect...so I have had a few unplanned days off with the little guy. I always enjoy and take every extra day I can get - sick or not!! But he is now on the mend and tearing up the world again so I have to go back to work - boo hiss! He has keenly grasp the concept that "Mommy is the BOSS" and has no trouble remembering it until he is in trouble and then it takes a few minutes to recall that detail. Al and I were both amazed that even though he was sick, every time we asked him if he wanted something, he replied "no, thank you". So polite!!

At school he has also learned all about good choices and bad choices...so much so that he is our walking conscious in the event we say the slightest thing wrong...to the extent we can't even say "shut" the door for example without him saying "Mommy - you made a bad choice - you said shut"...thinking I assume that it was followed with the word "up"...which is a bad choice!

He can say all of his ABC's and count to 15 or so. Knows all his colors and shapes. Knows more about airplanes than his Pockie (not really but he thinks so). And can name several dinosaurs - and thank you Aunt Leah - he knows the correct name of Parasaurolophus but promptly recalls that Aunt Leah was confused and calls it the Hammersaurus. Gotta love it!!

Watch out Pete Mitchell

Mr Eli is the new "Maverick"...watch out Tom Cruise. Eli was a Navy - Blue Angel - Engine #1 fighter pilot for Halloween. He was a huge hit and he had a great time. We went to the carnival at the church and he played the games.

I started my new job last week. It is very different, but I really like it. I think at this point in my life it is a great place for me and I really look forward to learning new things.
So I decided to start a family page so I can keep track of Eli's comings and goings - I'm a terrible mother for just now thinking to do this, but hey - better late than never right? Eli turned 3 about 3 weeks ago and of course keeps us so busy. I will post pictures from his Dino party soon.
